Chrysler LLC is proud to be the first and only auto manufacturer to offer SIRIUS Backseat TV™ in its 2008 model year vehicle lineup, including the 2008 Jeep Commander. The available SIRIUS Backseat TV features the best brands in family entertainment directly broadcast to your vehicle 24/7: Nickelodeon,™ Disney Channel and Cartoon Network≬ perfect for families on the go.
SIRIUS Backseat TV operates via an in-vehicle satellite video receiver and two small roof-mounted antennas. Programming is displayed on Commander's second-row flip-down 8-inch color screen. For added flexibility, rear-seat passengers can enjoy SIRIUS Backseat TV, while front-seat occupants listen to SIRIUS Satellite Radio.[1] The system can be controlled from either the rear-seat entertainment unit or the radio head unit. In addition, when the vehicle is in park, programming can be displayed on the MyGIG® screen for front-seat viewing.
SIRIUS Backseat TV is available on Overland and Limited.
All vehicles are preactivated with your service from the factory. Vehicles must be equipped with a rear seat VES® Video Entertainment System and SIRIUS Satellite Radio.

Rear Seat VES® Video Entertainment System
While you're waiting to arrive at your journey, the available rear seat VES® Video Entertainment System will keep your rear-seat passengers occupied. This high-tech system plays your favorite DVD videos on a headliner-mounted flip-down 8-inch color screen (one inch larger than 2007) via a video player (Note: The video player is part of the available MyGIG® Multimedia Infotainment System with GPS Navigation and MyGIG Entertainment Systems). Two wireless infrared headsets allow rear-seat passengers to listen to the same audio as up-front occupants or to choose their own. Auxiliary audio / video RCA jacks enable the monitor to display video from a camera or game system.
The Rear Seat Video Entertainment System is available on Overland and Limited and available on Sport in the Rear Back-Up Camera / Rear Seat Video Group.

MyGIG® Multimedia System w/GPS NAV
With the available MyGIG® System[2] with GPS Navigation, you'll always know how to get where you're going and you can take your favorite music, photos and DVDs along for the ride.
Find your destination and avoid traffic jams using GPS navigation with turn-by-turn route guidance and real-time traffic reporting via SIRIUS (one year of service provided by SIRIUS).[1] And no matter where you're headed, the 30-gigabyte hard drive keeps you entertained. Upload up to 4,500 of your favorite songs directly from the disc or through the USB 2.0 port. You can also upload photos. Pick your tunes and view your media on the 6.5-inch full-color touch-screen display that lets you watch DVDs with your vehicle in park. As a safety feature, UConnect® with Bluetooth® technology allows for hands-free calling using voice recognition. Gracenote® digital jukebox software lets you see the names of artists, tracks and albums.
