  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP)[1]

    Slick surfaces beware. Liberty Limited and Sport come standard with Electronic Stability Program(ESP)[1] is designed to assist drivers in maintaining control of their vehicles during extreme steering maneuvers. ESP senses when a vehicle is starting to spin (oversteer) or plow (understeer), and attempts to correct the vehicle course by automatically controlling the throttle and applying the brakes at individual wheels.

    • Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Always wear your seat belt and obey traffic laws.

  • Braking

    Liberty's standard four-wheel disc Antilock Brake System (ABS) with brake assist and traction control helps prevent wheel lockup for improved steering under extreme braking, slippery conditions, and aids in trail driving when in available four-wheel-drive 4LO mode (when properly equipped). ABS modulates the brakes to reduce stopping distances and improve steering control under braking.

    Because not all roads are paved or smooth. Liberty's four-wheel anti-lock brake system has a unique rough road detection system that has a special program to assist Liberty's stopping performance on gravel or dirt roads.

    In a panic brake condition, Liberty's Brake Assist system applies maximum braking power, providing the shortest possible stopping distance.

  • Tire-Pressure Monitor

    Pump it up. The All New 2008 Liberty features two available Tire-Pressure Monitoring (TPM) systems that alert the driver of low tire-pressure. On Sport, low tire-pressure is indicated by a warning lamp in the instrument cluster. An optional premium system on Limited displays individual tire-pressure readings in the EVIC display if one or more tires are under- or over-inflated for added confidence, safety and security.

  • ParkSense® Rear Park Assist[2]

    The ParkSense® Rear Park Assist System[2] uses sound waves to detect nearby obstacles in and near the rear path of the vehicle to help you maneuver in tight spaces at parking speeds. Audio-visual indicators in the overhead display in the rear of the vehicle alert you to the proximity of most larger, stationary objects that might be outside your line of sight. Available in Limited Limited's Premium Group II package.

    Liberty Limited's available Premium Group II includes everything in Premium Group I plus:
