More control. More torque at the wheels. The Rock-Trac® two-speed transfer case meets the demanding durability requirements of an intense off-road vehicle. A low-gear ratio allows Wrangler Rubicon to crawl at a lower speed but with greater increase in torque at the wheels. In turn, making it easier to trek over large rocks and timber. The second-generation Command-Trac® is standard equipment on four-wheel-drive models (except Rubicon). It continues as a part-time system, where four-wheel drive is not recommended for use on dry pavement. When four-wheel power is required, off-roading or slick conditions where more traction is required, Command Trac® kicks into action delivering equal power to all four corners getting through the rough stuff with ease.
