Powertrain

Power up to Go Anywhere, Do Anything®.

Liberty’s standard 3.7L SOHC V6 engine churns out 210 horsepower with 235 pound-feet of torque.

Liberty’s V6 engine pistons are made of lightweight aluminum and precision-forged powder metal connecting rods for minimized weight and high RPM capability.

Liberty’s advanced four-speed transmission with TOW / HAUL mode uses fully adaptive electronic control for exceptionally smooth shifting.

Push the TOW / HAUL button next to the shifter for improved vehicle performance and fuel economy while minimizing engine noise during trailer towing or heavy-load hauling. The TOW / HAUL mode inhibits fourth gear and allows upshifts to third gear during higher speed / lighter loads and added control.

  • Electronic Throttle Control

Liberty’s Electronic Throttle Control system helps prevent the “pedal bobble” that often occurs when in 4WD-low (4LO) mode. The system’s special off-road calibrations help the driver to “feather in” the throttle over uneven terrain, logs and rocks. The difference is night and day, and is akin to walking versus bouncing along tough off-road events.
