The 2012 Patriot delivers 4x4 fuel economy — an EPA estimated 28 highway miles per gallon — so you can adventure longer

All of the 2.0L and 2.4L World Engines feature a heavy dose of high-tech:

  • Intake manifold and exhaust flow control valves
  • Dual overhead camshafts
  • Dual Variable Valve Timing
  • Four valves per cylinder
  • Forged crankshaft and connecting rods
  • Aluminum block
  • Acoustic oil pan

Three transaxles are available on Patriot:

  • Five-speed manual
  • Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT2L) with 19.1:1 overall first-gear crawl ratio
  • Second-Generation Continuously Variable Transaxle (CVT2) with AutoStick

AutoStick allows for either fully automatic shifting or driver-interactive manual control with six simulated stepped-gear ratios.

    The 2.0L and 2.4L World Engines feature dual variable valve timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts for better all-around performance. The electronically controlled timing produces more power, better fuel economy and smoother, quieter operation than engines without Dual Variable Valve Timing. Smart.
