In extreme steering maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Control+ system helps you maintain control. The system senses wheel slippage and responds automatically to help the driver gain control.

Electronic Roll Mitigation+ uses innovative motion sensors that determine when a rollover may occur and applies braking force to the correct wheel or wheels to reduce the likelihood of such an accident.

Jeep® Patriot with available front seat side airbags has been awarded the 2011 TOP SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This important award is handed out to vehicles that rate very good in front, side, rear, and now rollover crashes.

Patriot's four-wheel Antilock Brake System includes Brake Assist and all-speed traction control to help you maintain vehicle control during emergency braking. Special off-road calibration provides sustained lockup on surfaces like mud or gravel for improved braking, and aid in trail driving when in four-wheel-drive Off-Road mode.

Anticipating the need for additional traction, Patriot's four-wheel-drive system automatically responds to wheel slippage by transferring power equally to both front and rear wheels, improving vehicle stability.

    Hill Descent Control

    Hill Descent Control with grade sensing allows a smooth and controlled hill descent on rough or slippery terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal. This system applies the brakes to each wheel individually when needed to reduce forward motion and help maintain control while negotiating down steep grades.
