- Four Wheeler of the Year
Four Wheeler magazine announced that the Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon has been named the winner of its prestigious "Four Wheeler of the Year" award for 2012. Once again the Wrangler Rubicon sets the bar even higher with a new level of capability, including improved power torque and fuel efficiency. According to Four Wheeler Editor John Cappa, "The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon owned nearly all aspects of off-road testing during our annual 'Four Wheeler of the Year' competition."
Cappa continued, "The grueling 1,000-mile trek put each contending vehicle through its paces in several on- and off-road environments, including high-speed graded roads, jagged rocks, shifting sand dunes, and more. The universal do-all capability of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon allowed it to outperform the other competing 4x4s, making it our 2012 Four Wheeler of the Year award winner."

The annual Kelley Blue Book award recognizes new vehicles that best maintain their appeal after five years of ownership. Wrangler ranked in the top 10 and won the Compact Utility Vehicle segment.
According to Eric Ibara, director of residual value consulting for Kelley Blue Book, Jeep had one of the better year-over-year improvements with a 4.1 percentage point gain in its 60-month residual value for 2012. Particularly the Wrangler, among this year's top 10 list, has been a steady performer, consistently racking up high values. For example, the 2007 model has yet to dip below 60 percent of MSRP as a 5-year-old vehicle. Each succeeding model year has managed to maintain that same high level of performance.

- Best 4x4 Vehicle of the Decade
Four Wheeler magazine editors have named the Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon and Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon the Best 4X4 Vehicles of the Decade. They write, The JK (current version) Wrangler represented a big step up in on-road ride and handling for Jeep's flagship ride, yet its off-road capability wasn't compromised in the least. That's exactly what we were going for.
- 2012 SEMA Show: Hottest 4x4 – SUV
Wrangler has consistently been one of the most accessorized vehicles in the world. Following suit, the iconic 2012 Jeep® Wrangler won the Special Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Hottest SUV Award. The SEMA Award honors those vehicles that specialty-equipment manufacturers believe are the best platforms for accessorizing and that showcase the latest and coolest products.
- Automotive Excellence Award for Off-Road Ability
Popular Mechanics magazine crowns the 2012 Jeep® Wrangler with an Automotive Excellence Award for Off-Road Ability. According to PM's Ben Stewart, "A more powerful and efficient driveline replaced the ancient 3.8-liter V6 and four-speed automatic. The new Wrangler, which is available with two or four doors, is the most livable ever. And it still has the steep approach and departure angles, stout running gear and hardwareskidplates and locking differentialsthat make it the most capable off-roader available. Many vehicles can take you to remote locations, but you're most likely to make it back home in a Wrangler."
- Ward's Top 10 Engine
The influential Ward's magazine awarded the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine as one of the 10 Best Engines+ for 2012. According to Drew Winter, editor-in-chief of Ward's AutoWorld magazine, "Chrysler has successfully demonstrated the breadth of this engine and how it delivers on all fronts including fuel economy, lower emissions and power." The 2012 Jeep Wrangler boasts 40 percent more horsepower, 10 percent more torque, and 26 percent faster 0-60 mph. Each year Ward's recognizes the most technologically advanced engines that set new benchmarks in their respective vehicle segments.
- 2012 Best Car for the Money Award
The iconic Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited won a Best Car for the Money award by U.S. News Cars in its fourth annual event. The Wranglers received the highest marks for overall value and appeal within the Off-Road SUVs category. According to U.S. News Cars, owners are hanging on to their vehicles longer, and are looking for added value from the day their vehicle is driven off the dealer's lot to the day they're traded in.
The awards combine the U.S. News Automotive rankings as well as five-year total cost of ownership data from the analysis at TrueCar.com. The results highlight cars that not only delight car reviewers, but also provide lower than average ownership costs. Rankings are based primarily on the balanced, diverse opinions of hundreds of professional auto critics, which are blended together to create a consensus about each car. More than 250 vehicles were evaluated in the rankings.
- Autobytel SUV of the Year Award
The Autobytel editors said it best, "When it comes to tacking any terrain put in front of it, the go-anywhere Jeep Wrangler has always been the ultimate SUV, but with the addition of a new powertrain for 2012, this iconic off-roader was an easy choice for the Autobytel 2012 SUV of the Year."
The editors were impressed how a classic SUV like Wrangler can become even more timeless, and contemporary with a radical facelift, and still perform like a utility vehicle. They were impressed with the good mix of power and fuel efficiency provided by the powerful Pentastar V6 engine. Editors commented, "Whether its equipped with a hard or soft top, the Jeep Wrangler allows for easy open-air driving, and, like its predecessors dating back to 1941, the 2012 Wrangler can still be enjoyed with the windshield folded down and the doors removed."
- Most Improved Loyalty to Make Award
Loyalty runs deep at the Jeep® brand. And it's getting stronger. The Jeep brand has been recognized by Polk for having the Most Improved Loyalty to Make for the 2011 model year. According to Polk's U.S. loyalty analysis for the 2011 model year, the Jeep brand had the greatest percentage point increase in make loyalty over the previous model year.
The Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are based on actual model year purchase/lease activity and recognizes manufacturers for superior performance in owner retention. Owners had such a positive overall experience that they came back to buy another vehicle of the same model, make, or manufacturer. The Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are the only fact-based awards in the industry based on owner loyalty.
- 4x4 of the Year
Wrangler Rubicon has long been the most capable vehicle on the planet. The off-roading experts at Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine helped cement that capability statement as they named the Jeep® Wrangler Rubicon the prestigious "4x4 of the Year" for 2012. Editor-in-chief, Rick Péwé, extolled "The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is the most competent 4x4 ever produced."
Péwé added, "The Rubicon gives you complete confidence in its terrain tackling abilities. It allows you to take the trail less traveled without worrying about the journey. And it does it while leaving a smile on your face. This is one fun ride."
Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road competition included a thousand miles of trails, where editors evaluated suspensions, drivetrains, transfer case functionality, and off-road performance – on sand, mud, rock and dirt road – as well as styling and value. The Rubicon set a new benchmark thanks in part to its improved sound deadening and completely new powertrain that offers more fuel efficiency, horsepower, and on-road performance for every-day driving.
