The Compass ride quality and solid feel comes by way of a touring tuned suspension with carefully determined spring and damping rates, rebound springs, and a rear sway bar.

With a four-wheel independent suspension, Compass does what you command, when you command it. You'll be able to feel it. It reacts like its part of your being, an extension of your own senses, not just nuts and bolts connected to the steering wheel.

In extreme steering maneuvers, the Electronic Stability Control+ helps you maintain control. The system senses wheel slippage and responds automatically to help the driver gain control.

Enjoy great handling with independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a multi-link rear suspension tuned for superior ride, handling and noise reduction.

    Hill Descent Control

    Available Hill Descent Control with grade sensing allows a smooth and controlled hill descent on rough or slippery terrain without the driver needing to touch the brake pedal. This system applies the brakes to each wheel individually, when needed, to reduce unwanted forward motion while negotiating down steep grades.

    Hill Start Assist

    Hill start assist helps you when starting a vehicle from a stop on a hill by maintaining the level of brake pressure applied for a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal. If throttle is not applied within a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal, brake pressure will be released

  • On- and Off-Road Antilock Brakes
    On- and Off-Road Antilock Brakes

    The Compass four-wheel antilock brake system includes brake assist and all-speed traction control to help you maintain vehicle control during emergency braking. Special off-road calibration provides sustained lockup on surfaces like mud or gravel for improved braking, and aid in trail driving when in four-wheel-drive Off-Road mode.
