Compass features electronic throttle control, replacing the mechanical throttle linkage. Benefits include added throttle feedback when off-roading. The system also provides seamless and consistent engine response, improved fuel economy+ and enhanced integration of vehicle systems - such as the transmission, variable camshaft timing, vehicle speed control and idle speed control.
- Dual Variable Valve Timing
The 2.0L and 2.4L World Engines feature dual Variable Valve Timing on both the intake and exhaust camshafts for better all-around performance. The electronically controlled timing produces more power, better fuel economy and smoother, quieter operation than engines without dual variable valve timing. Smart.
- Hill Start Assist
Available Hill Start assist helps drivers when starting a vehicle from a stop on a hill by maintaining the level of brake pressure applied for a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal. If throttle is not applied within a short period after the driver's foot is removed from the brake pedal, brake pressure will be released.
