This was the first pickup truck to carry the Jeep name and would continue production in one form or another until the Gladiator pickups replaced them in the early '60s. The new pickups were the first Jeep trucks available with four-wheel-drive (the Willys Wagon did not add 4WD until 1949) and were styled much like the Wagon with the trademark Jeep vertical slotted grille and an upright cab giving it a very modern pickup truck look.
