The All-New 2005 Jeep® Grand Cherokee Limited Dominates AMCI's Dynamic Certification Report

Automotive Marketing Consultants, Inc. (AMCI), tested the acceleration and braking capabilities of the 2004 Acura RSX type-S, 2005 Audi TT Coupe AT6, 2004 BMW 325xi, and 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The company also examined the interior sound properties of the 2005 Jaguar S-Type 3.0, 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and the 2004 Lexus ES 330.

Test Descriptions & Results:

Acceleration

Zero to 60 mph: This is the most widely recognized benchmark of vehicle acceleration performance. From a standing start, the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited accelerated faster to 60 mph than the 2005 Audi TT Coupe AT6 and 2004 BMW 325xi.


Quarter-mile elapsed time and trap speed: The benchmark test of power and traction. Twenty to 65 mph (merging): Simulates an on-ramp merge and illustrates the torque and automatic transmission kick-down capability of each vehicle. The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited completed the test faster and in a shorter distance than the 2005 Audi TT Coupe AT6 and 2004 BMW 325xi.

Braking

Seventy to 0 mph: Simulates a panic-stop situation on dry pavement. The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited stopped faster and in a shorter distance than the 2004 Acura RSX Type-S, and in the same distance as the 2005 Audi TT Coupe AT6.

Interior Sound
