Airbags⁺ — for protection from all sides

Coming equipped with six advanced, multi-stage driver and front-passenger airbags⁺ including new standard supplemental front seat-mounted side airbags⁺, Compass helps protect you even in the event of side collisions. Additionally, engineered crush zones in the front of your vehicle and side door guard beams (integrated into the design), an ultra-high strength steel crossbeam and more help absorb excess energy and decrease transfer of that energy to its occupants in the event of a collision.

An extra helping hand

Electronic Stability Control⁺ senses when you begin to over-steer or under-steer, then applies individual brakes and controls your throttle, as needed, to help put you back on track. An Antilock 4-Wheel Disc Brake System (ABS) also offers improved vehicle control and decreases stopping distances on both dry and slippery surfaces.

You'll also have the added Safety & Security of a Brake Assist System (which applies maximum braking power during panic braking) and Electronic Roll Mitigation⁺ (which uses innovative motion sensors that determine when a rollover may occur and applies braking force to the correct wheel or wheels to reduce the likelihood of such an accident).

Sentry key^® antitheft and remote keyless entry

A Sentry Key^® antitheft engine immobilizer makes it virtually impossible for anyone without a valid key to drive your vehicle. Plus, the remote keyless illuminated entry system lets you lock or unlock doors or the liftgate flip-up window from up to 23-50 feet away, and is also available with a Remote Start⁺ system.

ParkView^® Rear Back Up Camera

The new available ParkView^® Back Up Camera⁺ allows you to see an on-screen rearview video image of the rear surroundings of your Compass, whenever the shift lever is put into reverse. The image will be displayed on the Navigation/Multimedia radio display screen along with a caution note to "check entire surroundings" across the top of the screen.
