OFF-ROAD DIFFERENTIALS

Transferring power to the wheels is one of the most important aspects of 4x4 driving. Jeep® Brand vehicles include either mechanical, electronic or brake-assisted differentials to help maximize power delivery to your vehicle's wheels for optimal traction.

FRONT SWAY BAR DISCONNECT SYSTEM

This system, standard on the Wrangler Rubicon, lets you automatically disengage the front sway bar when driving under 18 mph in 4 Low Mode. The front wheels can then drop and compress for maximum articulation.

SKID PLATES

Many of our vehicles come standard with stamped steel skid plates. These high-strength steel plates are engineered to help protect your Jeep® Brand vehicle's guts when battling boulders and jagged rocks.

ROCK RAILS

Available extra-tough body-mounted rails (aka rock sliders or sill guards) help provide additional protection when off-roading.

BODY-ON-FRAME DESIGN

Wrangler and Wrangler four-door models are built with a frame that is fully boxed for strength, flexibility and durability.

DANA 44™ HEAVY-DUTY SOLID AXLES

Durability comes from heavy shafts, stiff housings, large pinion bearings and above-center pinion mountings for smooth and quiet operation. (Front Dana 44™ heavy-duty axle is standard only on the Wrangler Rubicon. Dana 30™ front axle is standard on all other models.)

The drive selector lets you toggle through specialized Auto, Snow, Sand, Sport and ECO modes. Each mode lets you manage vehicle traction to help you handle whatever’s around the bend.

The Jeep® Wagoneer S offers 3-in-1 Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) that combine the electric motor, gearing and power electronics into a single, compact unit that is both powerful and efficient. The front EDM is equipped with wheel disconnects to reduce energy draw when cruising and to help optimize range.

 

The Wagoneer S delivers standard all-electric four-wheel-drive capability for outstanding on- and off-road driving dynamics. Stellantis-designed EDMs independently power the front and rear wheels for instant torque response.

No buttons to push or levers to pull. The Quadra-Trac I® 4x4 System is always engaged for all-weather capability and peace of mind. Combined with a brake lock differential, the Quadra-Trac I 4x4 System provides command-of-the-road confidence that only comes in a Jeep® Brand vehicle.

The available Quadra-Trac II® 4x4 System features a two-speed low transfer case that uses input from a variety of sensors in order to determine tire slip at the earliest possible moment and take corrective action. Choose the Auto Mode in the available Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System for everyday driving or quickly dial in Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud or Rock for specific driving conditions. Go boldly.

Quadra-Drive® II 4x4 is the most rugged four-wheel-drive system for Grand Cherokee. It features a 2:72:1 low-range ratio and is equipped with a rear electronic limited slip differential. When tire slippage is detected, as much as 100% of available torque may be instantly routed to the axle with the most traction.
