TRAIL RATED® TOUGH
The Trail Rated® badge signifies the ability to perform well under a variety of weather and road conditions. The five key areas of Trail Rated testing are traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation and water fording. The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk® and models equipped with the available Off-Road Adventure I Group or the Off-Road Adventure II Group are all Trail Rated.
As the most capable SUV in its class, the new Grand Cherokee Trailhawk® delivers off-road dominance with a Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension, Selec-Speed® Control and Quadra-Drive® II with a rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential.
Jeep® Grand Cherokee offers three available 4x4 systems—Quadra-Trac I®, Quadra-Trac II® and Quadra-Drive® II. So if you just need to tackle rough weather or you’re the ultimate off-roader, Grand Cherokee can handle it.
SELEC-TERRAIN® TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM
Get legendary Jeep® vehicle capability with the available Selec-Terrain® Traction Control System, including five settings to tackle various kinds of challenging surfaces. These settings coordinate 12 vehicle systems including: throttle control, accelerator pedal response, transmission shifting, transfer case operation, traction control and Electronic Stability Control.
QUADRA-LIFT® AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM
The available Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension System raises your vehicle's ground clearance up to a maximum of 10.8 inches. You can also lower it 1.6 inches for easy entry, exit and loading. It has five distinct driver-selectable height settings for different driving scenarios: Park, Aero, Normal, Off-Road I and Off-Road II.
QUADRA-DRIVE® II 4x4 SYSTEM
The available Quadra-Drive® II 4x4 System combines the traction of Quadra-Trac II® and Selec-Terrain® with superior all-weather traction and off-road capability. It features an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential in the rear to allow 100% of the available torque to be sent to one rear wheel. With Quadra-Drive II, four-wheel drive is always engaged.
QUADRA-TRAC® 4x4 SYSTEMS
Quadra-Trac I® is an available full-time 4x4 system providing power to the front and rear axles. Quadra-Trac II® is a sophisticated system that anticipates wheel slippage and constantly transfers torque to the wheel with the most traction. 4x4 is always engaged on both systems. Quadra-Trac II® adds a 4x4 low-range for off-roading, which provides rock-crawling expertise.
Available Selec-Speed® Control helps you when climbing and descending steep grades. It includes both Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control. Hill Descent Control monitors throttle, speed and braking when you're traveling downhill. Hill Start Assist keeps your brakes applied after you’ve released the brake, to give you time to accelerate without rollback.
With a track-tuned attitude combined with a passion for performance, the Grand Cherokee SRT® provides pin-you-to-your-seat speed with top-of-the-line braking and handling. Standard 4x4 helps keep you in control while 470 lb-ft of torque gives you the power to tow up to 7,400 pounds.
THE FASTEST SUV IN ITS CLASS
Grand Cherokee SRT® is equipped with a 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine that delivers 475 horsepower through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Use the fully electronic automatic shift mode or get fully involved and climb up and down the gears using steering-wheel paddle controls.
Grand Cherokee offers a choice of two engines, the standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with Stop/Start technology, and the powerful available 5.7L HEMI® V8 engine with Fuel Saver Technology, which boasts 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque.
3.6L PENTASTAR® V6 ENGINE
The 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine features Engine Stop/Start technology that cuts fuel flow and turns off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop. The engine restarts when the brake pedal is released. It offers a range of over 600 highway miles on one tank at 26 highway mpg.
UP TO 7,400 POUNDS OF TOWING CAPABILITY
Grand Cherokee has a maximum towing capacity of up to 7,400 pounds when properly equipped. Trailer Sway Control (TSC) reduces trailer sway and improves handling in adverse towing conditions. TSC applies brake pressure on alternating wheels and may adjust engine throttle to help eliminate sway and maintain vehicle and trailer system stability.
