Body-On Frame
The recognizable boxy shape of the Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator isn’t just iconic, it also promotes the strength, flexibility and durability needed for rough terrain. Jeep® Wrangler shown with aluminum hood. Actual hood may vary.
Steel Skid Plates
These are basically armor for your vehicle’s undercarriage, so when you’re driving over boulders or sharp rocks, your guts won’t get scraped up.
Dana® Heavy-Duty Solid Axles
A Jeep® Brand vehicle brings the heavy to its axles—heavy shafts, heavy bearing, stiff housings and above-center pinion mountings. These enable a smooth, quiet ride, absorbing shock and noise. All Wrangler and Gladiator models sport Dana® solid axles while Rubicon, Wrangler MOAB 392 and Gladiator Mojave models include upgraded heavy-duty Dana 44™ axles.
Rock Rails
Also known as “sill guards,” rock rails are rails at the base of your vehicle that offer an extra level of protection to your vehicle’s body when off-roading. Jeep® Gladiator shown with aluminum hood. Actual hood may vary.
Sport Mode
Alters throttle response and the transmission’s shift points for tighter handling and sportier driving.
Sand Mode
Redistributes throttle and torque to improve traction and keep you from getting stuck in sand or mud.
Snow Mode
Provides enhanced traction and stability for snowy, icy conditions.
Rock Mode
Locks axles, engages the electric locking differentials and distributes torque evenly, so that you can drive over extreme obstacles at slow speeds with maximum traction. Only to be used in low-range driving.
Auto Mode
Adapts the vehicle’s 4x4 system for optimal performance on hard, paved surfaces.
All-Terrain Tires
You don’t necessarily need specialty tires, but it definitely helps. While all Jeep® Brand vehicles come equipped with durable tires, Wrangler Willys, Wrangler/Gladiator Rubicon and Gladiator Mojave come with 33-inch all-terrain tires. On Wrangler, you can also add additional size with available packages like our Xtreme 35-Inch Tire Package.
Specialty Lights and Light Bars
Depending on just how far out you’re going, things can get dark. Upgrading your headlamps to specialty off-roading headlamps or adding a light bar or two to your vehicle will allow you to keep a watchful eye on the unbeaten path ahead.
A Winch
Whether it's pulling yourself out of a slippery spot or helping out a fellow adventurer, a winch is incredibly useful when you’re out in rugged terrain. Thankfully, the 2026 Jeep® Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator both offer a factory installed winch option that doesn't sacrifice any safety and security features like Adaptive Cruise Control.
